Admissions Policy Consultation 2026 / 2027

The Trust must set (‘determine’) admission arrangements annually. Where changes are proposed to admission arrangements, the Trust must first publicly consult on those arrangements. If no changes are made to admission arrangements, they must be consulted on at least once every 7 years.

Booth Wood Academy is proposing the following changes to its admissions arrangements for 2026:

  •  There are no significant changes to the policy.  The school joined The David Ross Education Trust on 1 November 2024. The Local Authority Policy covers all schools in Leicestershire.  The Booth Wood Policy has been amended to be applicable to Booth Wood Academy only.
  • No changes to oversubscription criteria or Published Admission Numbers have been made, other than removal of the current 5th criteriaPupils with a sibling attending the Linked Junior School. (See note v.).  This is highlighted in yellow in the draft policy.  This criteria is applicable to other Leicestershire Schools but not applicable Booth Wood Academy so will be removed.

The consultation is for admissions in 2026/2027 - the consultation document and policy is available to download here:

If you have any queries regarding this policy or require any further information, please contact the School Office or email us at DRETadmissions@dret.co.uk.
